What WizSense and WizMind actually do: smart motion detection, perimeter protection, Active Deterrence, face recognition, ANPR and people counting. How it works, which model numbers have it, and the Dahua AI cameras we stock.
A short walk-through of SMD, IVS tripwire and intrusion, Active Deterrence, WizMind face recognition, ANPR and people counting.

Dahua's entry-level tier for tighter budgets. Good images, but not the full AI feature set.
AI on a dedicated chip in the camera or recorder: SMD, perimeter protection with human/vehicle selection, face detection, Quick Pick search, AI SSA and Active Deterrence on selected models.
More processing power for people-centred analysis: face recognition, people counting, ANPR on WizMind X, richer metadata, plus AI Codec and ePoE.
Smart Motion Detection classifies motion so only people and vehicles count, and is tuned to filter out small and large animals.
Tripwire and intrusion rules with human or vehicle selection. Dahua rules also cover fast moving, parking, loitering and gathering.
With an AI recorder, search human and vehicle events and compare clothing and vehicle colours to find a target fast.
AI Scene Self-adaptation spots rain, fog, backlight, low light and flicker and tunes the picture to suit.
Warning light and siren set off by people, with colour images at night on TiOC models.
AI Codec cuts bandwidth and storage by keeping detail where it matters; ePoE carries power and data up to 800 m on one cable.

About 2.5–3 m high with a slight downward angle. People should fill a reasonable part of the frame; a figure a few pixels tall can't be classified.
Use SMD or IVS (tripwire or intrusion) with human/vehicle selected; plain motion detection still fires on everything. Draw rules over your property, not the public pavement.
Faces and number plates are personal data under UK GDPR. For face recognition or ANPR, do a data protection impact assessment and follow the ICO's CCTV guidance.
We've supplied CCTV to trade and retail customers since 2012. Tell us what you need to protect and we'll match the camera, recorder and storage, explain the AI settings before you buy, and support you afterwards.
Orders are dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales, or collect from our Wolverhampton trade counter, where you can see AI cameras running live. We're a supplier, not an installer, but depending on your requirements and area we may be able to recommend a qualified trade installer.
Dahua's AI cameras are in two tiers: WizSense (mostly 2 and 3 series) and WizMind (mostly 5 and 7 series). The Lite tier is entry level without the full AI set. WizSense XVRs (I3) and AI NVRs add AI on the recorder.
WizSense detects and sorts people and vehicles, with smart motion detection, perimeter protection and AI search. WizMind has more processing power for face recognition, people counting, ANPR and richer metadata, plus AI Codec and ePoE.
Smart Motion Detection classifies motion so only people and vehicles count. SMD 4.0 is tuned to filter out small and large animals, and with an AI recorder Quick Pick searches those events by human or vehicle, including clothing and vehicle colours.
AI Scene Self-adaptation detects conditions such as rain, fog, backlight, low light and flicker, and adjusts the image to suit, so the AI has a clearer picture to work with.
Cameras with Active Deterrence (often -PV in the model number, including TiOC models) have a warning light and siren that the AI triggers when a person enters your zone.
Often, yes. A WizSense XVR (I3 in the model number) can apply human/vehicle detection to HDCVI and analogue cameras on a limited number of channels. Check the AI channel count on the recorder.
No. The AI runs on the camera or recorder, and alerts reach your phone through the free DMSS app.
