AcuSeek: search Hikvision footage by describing it
AcuSeek uses a Guanlan large multimodal model to turn a phrase into a search, typed or spoken in 30+ languages, with results in seconds. OpenAlert goes further: describe a target and get an alert the next time it appears.

Getting good results from Hikvision AI cameras
???? Mount it right
About 2.5–3 m high with a slight downward angle. People should fill a reasonable part of the frame; a figure a few pixels tall can't be classified.
✏️ Use the AI rules
Use Perimeter Protection (line crossing or intrusion) with human/vehicle ticked, or rely on Motion Detection 2.0. Draw zones over your property, not the public pavement.
⚖️ Mind the law
Faces and number plates are personal data under UK GDPR. For face recognition or ANPR, do a data protection impact assessment and follow the ICO's CCTV guidance.

Most current Pro series cameras have AcuSense: the G2 generation and the newer G3 generation with AcuSense 3.0. Advanced AI is in the DeepinView (iDS-2CD7… and similar) and DeepinViewX ranges. On the recorder side, AcuSense NVRs (NXI), AcuSense DVRs (iDS-…HUHI) and AcuSeek NVRs (/Vpro) add AI too.
What does AcuSense actually do?
AcuSense sorts everything it sees into humans, vehicles and other. It powers four functions: Motion Detection 2.0 (on by default, people and vehicles only), Perimeter Protection (line crossing and intrusion rules), Live Guard (light and siren on selected models) and Quick Target Search (recordings filed as Person and Vehicle).
What is the difference between AcuSense and DeepinView?
AcuSense is everyday AI that tells people and vehicles from everything else. DeepinView adds more processing power for multi-target capture with attributes, face capture, ANPR, people counting and dedicated perimeter protection.
What is AcuSense 3.0?
It's the AI in Hikvision's G3 Pro series cameras: upgraded detection algorithms with AcuSearch, alongside HikAI-ISP noise reduction, AI WDR, Smart Hybrid Light and Audio 2.0.
What is AcuSeek?
AcuSeek is Hikvision's natural-language video search, built on its Guanlan large multimodal AI model. You type or say what you are looking for and the recorder returns matching clips in seconds, in over 30 languages, on the recorder, in Hik-Connect or in HikCentral.
What is Guanlan?
Guanlan is Hikvision's suite of large-scale AI models, launched in 2025. It runs in DeepinViewX cameras (Hikvision reports 90% fewer false alarms and twice the detection range), in Guanlan Encoding (30–50% average storage saving) and in AcuSeek search.
Does Hikvision AI need a subscription?
No. The AI runs on the camera or recorder, and alerts reach your phone through the free Hik-Connect app.
Can the public buy Hikvision AI cameras?
Hikvision is primarily a trade product and trade account holders see trade pricing when logged in. HiLook, Hikvision's own value range, caters for end users as well. Call us and we'll tell you which range suits your job.
