The Dahua DHI-NVR5832-4KS2 is a 32 channel 4K NVR: a 2U CCTV network video recorder from Dahua’s Pro series. As a security camera recorder, it records up to 32 IP cameras, including 12MP models, with Smart H.265+ compression, 8 SATA III drive bays and 4K HDMI output. This model has no built-in PoE ports; the 16 PoE version is listed separately.

Is this a 4K NVR?
The HDMI1 output supports up to 3840 × 2160 (4K), and the recorder lists camera resolutions including 12MP, 8MP, 6MP, 5MP and 4MP.
How many cameras can it record?
It has 32 IP camera channels and 320 Mbps of incoming bandwidth.
Does it have PoE ports?
No. The DHI-NVR5832-4KS2 has no PoE ports, so power the cameras from a PoE switch, or choose the PoE version, DHI-NVR5832-16P-4KS2, linked above.
How many hard drives can I fit?
It has 8 SATA III bays, up to 10 TB for a single HDD, plus 1 eSATA port. Dahua notes that the maximum HDD capacity varies with environment temperature.
Can I use cameras from another brand?
It supports ONVIF (profile T, S and G) and Dahua lists third-party support for Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, Axis, Pelco, Arecont and Canon cameras. Brand-specific analytics may not carry across.
What does AI by Camera mean?
Dahua lists perimeter protection, face detection and recognition, SMD Plus, ANPR and similar functions as AI by Camera, which means they need compatible Dahua cameras connected to the recorder.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. Recording is local to the recorder and the app is free.
