Common questions
Is it a 360 degree camera?
Dahua says the fisheye lens can realise 360° surveillance. The lens field of view is 180° × 180°, and the camera offers multiple dewarped modes to flatten the fisheye image.
What resolution is it?
12MP: 4000 × 3000 at up to 25 fps on the main stream. It can also stream 2880 × 2880 (8M) and 2880 × 2160 (6M).
Does it have night vision?
Yes, it is an infrared camera: three IR LEDs reach up to 10 m. Dahua says the camera gives a colour image when light is adequate and switches to a black and white night mode when it is not.
Can it record sound?
Yes. It has a built-in microphone and supports G.711a, G.711Mu and G.726 audio.
Is it a waterproof camera, and is it vandal resistant?
It is IP67 rated (dust-proof, and it works after 30 minutes in 1 m of water) and IK10 rated (it withstands a 5 kg hammer dropped from 40 cm).
Can it be used as an outdoor CCTV camera?
It operates from -30°C to +60°C, and with IP67 protection it can be used outdoors.
Is it an ONVIF camera?
Yes. Dahua also lists PSIA and CGI support on the RJ-45 network interface.
How is it powered?
By PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC, using under 12 W.
How far can it see?
Dahua's DORI figures are above: 42 m to detect a person, 4 m to identify one.
