- Dahua PFA121 waterproof junction box
- Dahua DH-PFA152-E pole mount bracket
- Dahua DH-LR1002 ePoE over coax converter
What you will need
- A PoE NVR (or a PoE switch) with enough channels and support for 6MP per channel.
- Cat5e or Cat6 cable, up to 100m per run. For longer runs, add a PoE switch nearer the camera, or see the ePoE converter above.
- A surveillance-grade hard drive, sized for how long you need to keep footage. We fit and format it before dispatch or collection.
- Signage. If your cameras capture anything beyond your boundary you are a data controller under UK GDPR and must display a notice.
Common questions
Is the Dahua IPC-HFW5631E-ZE a 3K camera?
It is a 6MP camera. Its main stream is 3072 × 2048 (6M) at up to 20 fps, and Dahua also lists 5M at 3072 × 1728, so the picture is about 3,000 pixels wide, which is what 3K usually describes. At 4M (2688 × 1520) it records at up to 25/30 fps.
How far can the IR night vision see?
Dahua lists IR distance up to 50m (164ft) with Smart IR. Its DORI figures at the wide end of the lens are 79m to detect, 32m to observe, 16m to recognise and 8m to identify a person, and at the tele end 256m, 102m, 51m and 25m.
Does it have a zoom lens?
Yes. It has a motorised 2.7mm to 13.5mm lens with 5x optical zoom, motorised focus and auto iris (DC). The angle of view runs from 91° wide down to 27° horizontally.
How is the camera powered?
It runs on PoE (802.3af, Class 0) or 12 VDC, and Dahua gives its power consumption as below 12.95W. Dahua also describes ePoE technology that can carry the signal 800m at 10Mbps or 300m at 100Mbps over Cat 5 or coaxial cable; the DH-LR1002 converter above is the ePoE over coax converter in Dahua's accessory list.
Is it waterproof and vandal resistant?
Dahua certifies it to IP67 (dust and immersion tests) and IK10 (impact), with a metal casing. It is rated for -30 °C to +60 °C at less than 95% RH, tolerates ±30% input voltage and has a 6KV lightning rating. That makes it suitable for use as an outdoor CCTV camera.
What smart features does it have?
IVS covers tripwire, intrusion and abandoned or missing object detection, and the camera also offers face detection and tamper detection when the scene changes dramatically. Smart H.265+ compression can cut bit rate and storage by up to 70% compared with standard H.265, according to Dahua.
Will it work with a non-Dahua recorder?
Dahua lists ONVIF, PSIA and CGI interoperability, so it can be added to compatible recorders. Check that the recorder supports 6MP per channel, or tell us the recorder model and we will check.
