Hikvision DS-KD-BK video intercom blanking module

The DS-KD-BK is the blanking module for Hikvision's DS-KD8003 modular door station range. It fills an unused slot in the modular frame so the finished panel looks deliberate rather than unfinished.

It matters more than it sounds. Mounting brackets come in fixed sizes — one, two or three modules — so a build that does not exactly fill the bracket leaves an open aperture. The blanking module closes that gap, keeping the panel weathertight and matching the finish of the surrounding modules.

It also leaves the door open for later: fit a blank now and you can swap in a keypad, card reader or display module further down the line without replacing the bracket or disturbing the installation.
