The TP-Link Deco PX50 3-pack is a Wi-Fi 6 mesh system with powerline built in. Each unit delivers AX3000 Wi-Fi (2402 Mbps on 5 GHz plus 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz) and links back to the others over the mains wiring with G.hn powerline at up to 1.5 Gbps, as well as wirelessly. What the Deco PX50 is for

Ordinary mesh struggles in homes with thick stone walls, foil-backed plasterboard or a separate extension, because the units talk to each other through the air. The PX50 also uses the electrical wiring, so the backhaul gets through where Wi-Fi cannot, giving you full-speed Wi-Fi 6 in the far rooms.

What is a powerline mesh system?

The Deco PX50 units connect to each other through your mains wiring (G.hn, up to 1.5 Gbps) as well as over Wi-Fi, then broadcast Wi-Fi 6 in each room. It suits homes where walls block a normal mesh.

Will it work with my TP-Link HomePlug powerline adapters?

The PX50 uses G.hn powerline, which is a different standard from HomePlug AV/AV2, so treat it as its own system rather than pairing it with TL-PA adapters.

Can I plug it into an extension lead?

For best powerline performance plug each unit directly into a wall socket.
