The TP-Link ER701-5G-Outdoor is an Omada tp link 5g router for outdoor mounting, with 5G SA speeds up to 7.01 Gbps down and 1.25 Gbps up (NSA 4.5 Gbps / 730 Mbps), a dual nano SIM slot, nine internal cellular antennas and a 2.5G RJ45 PoE-in port.

What the ER701-5G-Outdoor is for

The ER701-5G-Outdoor is mounted outside, on a wall, pole or window, where 5G signal is strongest, and feeds the building over one Ethernet cable that also powers it. It runs as a router or in IP passthrough mode in front of an existing router, so it works as a fixed wireless link for offices, farms and sites without fibre.

TP-Link describe app-guided antenna alignment for best 5G performance. Its 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (150 Mbps) is for setup only. Manage it standalone or through an Omada controller or Omada Cloud alongside Omada switches.

What you will need

A 5G nano SIM with a data plan, outdoor-rated network cable to the building, and a router or switch inside. The passive PoE adapter, cable, mounting and waterproof kits are included.

Which 5G bands does the TP-Link ER701-5G-Outdoor support?

5G NR n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n26/n28/n38/n40/n41/n75/n76/n77/n78, 4G FDD B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B26/B28/B32 and TDD B38/B40/B41/B42/B43. These include n78, the main UK 5G band, but check coverage with your provider.

What SIM does it take?

A dual nano SIM slot, so you can fit two SIMs.

How is the ER701-5G-Outdoor powered?

Over its 2.5G RJ45 port by 802.3at PoE (42 to 57 V) or 48 V passive PoE. A passive PoE adapter is included. Max consumption is 15.3 W.

Can it work with my existing router?

Yes. It supports router mode and IP passthrough, so it can hand the 5G connection to a router such as an Omada ER605.

Is it Omada compatible?

Yes. It can be managed standalone or through an Omada controller, Omada Cloud or the Omada app.

Does it have Wi-Fi?

Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at 150 Mbps for setup. Use Omada access points or a Wi-Fi router for client Wi-Fi.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter. Call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
