The TP-Link LS108G is an 8-port gigabit unmanaged switch in a desktop case, with 8 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports. It is plug and play, with no PoE output, so it is a simple way to add wired ports to an office, shop or CCTV network.

What the LS108G is for

TP-Link make the LS108G as an unmanaged network switch: connect the cables and it works, with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX on every port, so there is nothing to configure. Each port runs at up to 1 Gbps, which suits PCs, printers, NVRs and other wired devices.

The LS108G does not supply PoE, so IP cameras and access points connected to it need their own power or a PoE injector. If you want to power cameras from the switch, look at our TP-Link PoE switches instead.

What you will need

You need network cable for each device (Cat5e or above for gigabit links) and a mains socket for the switch. It gives no PoE, so powered devices need a separate supply.

Does the LS108G support PoE?

No. The LS108G is a non-PoE switch. Devices that need PoE must be powered separately, for example with a PoE injector, or you can choose a TP-Link PoE switch.

Is the LS108G managed, and does it need an Omada controller?

No. It is an unmanaged plug and play switch, so it has no web interface and does not need an Omada controller or any configuration.

How fast are the ports on the LS108G?

All 8 RJ45 ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps, so each device can link at full gigabit speed. If you need a different speed or port count, see the TL-SG108.

What is the difference between the LS108G and the TL-SG108?

Both are 8-port gigabit unmanaged desktop switches in steel cases. TP-Link list IGMP snooping on the TL-SG108 but not on the LS108G LiteWave.

Can the LS108G be rack mounted?

No. The LS108G is a desktop switch. For a rack cabinet choose a rack-mountable model such as the TL-SG1016, TL-SG1024 or TL-SG1048.

Is the LS108G silent?

Yes. TP-Link list it as fanless, so it runs silently.

How quickly can I get it?
