The TP-Link Omada SG2005P-PD is a PoE-powered smart managed switch. It takes power and data on one 802.3af/at/bt PoE input port and passes PoE+ out to four gigabit RJ45 ports, with up to 64 W of PoE output when fed by 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W). It is fanless, mounts on a pole or wall, and is rated from -40°C to 60°C.

What the SG2005P-PD is for

This tp link PoE switch solves the problem of adding cameras or access points where there is no mains power: run one cable from a PoE++ switch or injector to the SG2005P-PD on a pole or wall, and it powers up to four PoE devices from there. The PoE budget depends on what feeds it: 64 W from 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W), 44 W from Type 3 (60 W), 19 W from 802.3at and 6 W from 802.3af. As a TP-Link Omada switch it can be managed centrally from an Omada controller and the Omada App, or standalone.

What you will need

You need an upstream PoE source on the input port: an 802.3bt switch or injector for the full 64 W output. You also need outdoor-rated network cable for each run, and an Omada controller if you want central management.

Does the SG2005P-PD need a power supply?

No. It is powered from an 802.3af/at/bt PoE source on its input port. There is no separate power input.
