SG2206MP — TP-Link Omada Access 6-Port Gigabit Switch with 4-Port PoE+

The TP-Link Omada SG2206MP is a compact smart managed switch with four gigabit PoE+ RJ45 ports, one gigabit non-PoE RJ45 port and one gigabit SFP slot. It has a 63 W PoE budget with Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE, and L2+ features including static routing.

What the SG2206MP is for

This tp link PoE switch suits a four-camera CCTV system or a small Omada Wi-Fi network: power four cameras or access points, connect the NVR or router on the spare RJ45 port, and use the SFP slot for a fibre link back to the main cabinet. As a TP-Link Omada switch it can be managed centrally from an Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller and the Omada App, or standalone through the web GUI, CLI and SNMP.

The power adapter is included. You need network cable for each device, an SFP module if you use the fibre slot, and an Omada controller on the versions listed above if you want central management.

Does the SG2206MP support PoE?

Yes, on four ports, which are 802.3af/at PoE+. The fifth RJ45 port and the SFP slot are data only.

Is the SG2206MP Omada compatible, and does it need a controller?

Yes. TP-Link list Omada Cloud-Based Controller 5.15.22 or later, or Hardware/Software Controller 5.15.20 or later. A controller is optional: it can also be managed standalone.

SG2206MP or SG2008P?

Both have four PoE+ ports and about 63 W. The SG2206MP adds an SFP slot, Perpetual PoE and a rackmount kit; the SG2008P has four extra data ports instead.
