What the SG2428LP is for

This tp link PoE switch suits CCTV and Wi-Fi jobs that need up to 16 powered devices plus a handful of data-only connections for an NVR, PCs or printers. Being fanless, it is a good fit for an office comms cabinet where noise matters. The 150 W budget is shared, so add up the draw of your cameras or access points first. As a TP-Link Omada switch it can be managed centrally from an Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller and the Omada App, or standalone through the web GUI, CLI and SNMP.

You need a 19-inch rack or cabinet (or a shelf, using the rubber feet), network cable for each device, SFP modules for any fibre uplinks, and an Omada controller if you want central management.

Does the SG2428LP support PoE?

Yes, on 16 ports. Those are 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W each. The other 8 RJ45 ports are data only.

Is the SG2428LP Omada compatible, and does it need a controller?

It is a TP-Link Omada switch and works with Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controllers. A controller is optional: it can also be managed standalone through the web GUI or CLI.

SG2428LP or SG2428P?

The SG2428P makes all 24 RJ45 ports PoE+ with a 250 W budget, but uses fans. The SG2428LP has 16 PoE+ ports, a 150 W budget and is fanless.
