What you will need

You need a 19-inch rack or cabinet (or a shelf, using the rubber feet), network cable for each device, SFP modules for any fibre uplinks, and an Omada controller if you want central management.

Is the SG2428P Omada compatible, and does it need a controller?

It is a TP-Link Omada switch and works with Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controllers. A controller is optional: it can also be managed standalone through the web GUI or CLI.

SG2428P or SG2428LP?

The SG2428LP has 16 PoE+ ports and 8 non-PoE ports with a 150 W budget. The SG2428P makes all 24 ports PoE+ with a 250 W budget.

Can the SG2428P route between VLANs?

It supports 32 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and up to 32 IP interfaces, so it can route between VLANs using static routes.
