The Dahua DHI-XVR5216AN-4KL-16P is a 16 channel 4K Penta-brid XVR CCTV DVR in a 1U case, the 16P PoC version with a DC48V power input. It is a 16 channel digital video recorder, a CCTV recorder and a hybrid DVR for CCTV cameras: one recorder takes five camera formats, HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP. Common questions
What does Penta-brid mean?
It means the recorder takes five video formats on its inputs: HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP. Our guide to Dahua Penta-brid recorders explains how that helps when upgrading an older system.
What does the 16P in the model number mean?
It marks the PoC version of this 16 channel recorder, which has a DC48V power input. Dahua notes that an HDCVI PoC system does not currently support balun accessing or UTP transmission.
Which cameras can I connect?
HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS cameras on the 16 channels, and IP cameras on up to 24 IP channels (16+8), each up to 8MP. See our guide to Dahua HDCVI cameras for how HDCVI works over coax.
What resolution does it record?
The main stream records 4K at 1 to 7 fps, 6MP at 1 to 10 fps, 5MP at 1 to 12 fps and 4MP or 3MP at 1 to 15 fps. 1080P, 720P, 960H, D1, CIF and QCIF record at 1 to 25/30 fps.
How much storage can I fit?
It has two SATA ports, each taking a hard drive of up to 6TB. The options on this page include a recorder-only choice and a range of surveillance hard drives, so you can order it as a DVR with hard drive or choose the recorder only.
What video outputs does it have?
The 16 channel model has one HDMI output, one VGA output and one TV output.
