Dahua HAC-HDBW3231E-ZH - 2MP 1080p Starlight HDCVI IR Dome Camera
The Dahua HAC-HDBW3231E-ZH is a 2MP 1080p Starlight HDCVI infrared dome CCTV security camera with a 2.7-12mm motorised lens and 120dB true WDR. HDCVI sends high definition video over coaxial cable, so it can reuse existing coax from an older analogue CCTV system (see our HDCVI guide). Dahua lists it in its Ultra Series.
Also listed as DH-HAC-HDBW3231E-ZH.

Common questions
Will it work with my existing recorder?
Only if the recorder supports HDCVI. Our Penta-brid recorders guide explains Dahua's multi-format recorders. Tell us your recorder model and we will confirm.
Do I need to run new cable?
Dahua says an HDCVI system can upgrade a traditional analogue system without replacing the existing coaxial cabling. It quotes up to 800m for 1080P over coaxial cable, from real-scene testing in its laboratory.
What does Starlight mean?
Dahua describes Starlight as a high performance sensor that captures more detail and accurate colour in very low light. See our Starlight low light guide.
How is it powered?
It takes AC 24V ±25% or DC 12V ±25%, with a maximum power consumption of 21.5W with IR and heater on.
Is it a waterproof camera, and is it vandal resistant?
Dahua rates it IP67 and IK10, with an operating temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C. IK10 is described as withstanding 5 kg dropped from 40 cm.
How far can this infrared camera see?
Dahua gives the IR distance as up to 50m, using 3 IR LEDs and Smart IR, which adjusts the IR intensity to the distance of the object.
