The Dahua HAC-HDW2241T-A is a 2MP 1080p Starlight HDCVI IR eyeball turret CCTV camera with a built-in microphone and up to 50m of Smart IR night vision. HDCVI carries high definition video over standard coaxial cable, so it can upgrade an older analogue system without new cable. The housing is waterproof to IP67 and the camera runs from 12V DC.

• IP67 housing for indoor or outdoor use, with an operating range of -40°C to +60°C.
• 12V DC power with a plus or minus 30% input voltage tolerance, maximum 5.3W with IR on.
• HDCVI transmission up to 800m for 1080P over coaxial cable and up to 300m over UTP cable (Dahua real-scene lab figures).

Common questions

What does HDCVI mean?

HDCVI is Dahua's technology for carrying high definition video over standard coaxial cable, so an old analogue camera run can be reused. See Dahua HDCVI cameras explained.

What does Starlight mean on this camera?

Starlight is Dahua's low light sensor technology. For this camera Dahua lists a minimum illumination of 0.004Lux at F1.6 with 120dB true WDR. See Dahua Starlight low-light cameras.

Does it have a microphone?

Yes. Dahua lists a built-in microphone and an audio-in interface, and says the camera can send audio over the coaxial cable. Check that your recorder supports audio over HDCVI. If you record audio, display signage saying so.

Which lens should I choose?

Which recorder do I need?

An HDCVI-capable recorder, such as a Dahua XVR. Dahua says the camera also supports CVBS and other HD analogue formats, selected by the DIP switch on the cable. See Dahua Penta-brid recorders explained, or tell us your recorder model and we will check.

How far will the night vision reach, and is it waterproof?

Dahua lists IR distance up to 50m with Smart IR. It has an IP67 rating, which Dahua describes as protected against water and dust, suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
