The Dahua HAC-HDW2401EM is a 4MP 2K HDCVI WDR infrared eyeball turret CCTV security camera with a fixed lens and 120dB true WDR. HDCVI sends high definition video over coaxial cable, so it can reuse existing coax from an older analogue CCTV system (see our HDCVI guide). Dahua lists it in its Pro Series. This listing offers the 2.8mm and 3.6mm lens versions; Dahua also lists a 6mm option.

Common questions
Will it work with my existing recorder?
Only if the recorder supports HDCVI. Our Penta-brid recorders guide explains Dahua's multi-format recorders. Tell us your recorder model and we will confirm.
Do I need to run new cable?
Dahua says an HDCVI system can upgrade a traditional analogue system without replacing the existing coaxial cabling. It quotes up to 700m for 4MP over coaxial cable, from real-scene testing in its laboratory.
Which lens should I choose?
Dahua lists 3.6mm as standard with 2.8mm and 6mm optional. At 2.8mm the angle of view is wider (H: 99.7°) and at 6mm it is narrower (H: 48.6°). See the DORI table for detect, observe, recognise and identify distances.
How is it powered?
It takes 12V DC ±25%, with a maximum power consumption of 5.3W with IR on. Our HDCVI guide covers what an HDCVI system needs.
Is it a waterproof camera?
Dahua rates it IP67, with an operating temperature of -30 °C to +60 °C.
Does it have a microphone?
No, Dahua lists the audio interface of the HAC-HDW2401EM as N/A. The HAC-HDW2401EM-A version has a built-in mic.
Is it an infrared camera?
Yes. Dahua gives the IR distance as up to 50m, using Smart IR.
