The Hikvision AE-MN5043 is a four-channel mobile network video recorder for vehicle installation. It runs on +9 to +36 VDC, so it suits both 12 V and 24 V systems, takes two 2.5 inch drives plus an SD card, and weighs 1.66 kg before storage is fitted.

What this recorder is for

This is the IP (network) recorder in the range. It powers four IP cameras directly over its own PoE ports and extends to eight through a PoE switch. The analogue equivalent is the AE-MD5043, which takes AE-VC analogue cameras instead. It has GPS and GLONASS positioning and a built-in G-sensor, so footage is logged against position and against harsh braking or impact rather than just against a clock.

How many cameras does the AE-MN5043 take?

Four IP cameras over the recorder's own PoE ports, extendable to eight through a PoE switch.

Will it work with my existing analogue cameras?

No — this is an IP recorder. Analogue cameras from the AE-VC range need the AE-MD5043 mobile DVR instead. Call us on 01902 902251 and we will confirm which one your cameras need.

What storage does it take?

Two 2.5 inch HDDs or SSDs — SSD up to 4 TB, HDD up to 2 TB — plus one SD card up to 512 GB. Hikvision ask that the SD card capacity is specified when ordering.

How are the network ports arranged?

The front panel has one 10M/100M RJ45 port and the rear panel has one 10M/100M 6-pin aviation connector. The two sit on different network segments.

Can it use a mobile data connection?

Yes. There is one 4G card slot with a FAKRA antenna. Hikvision specify that industrial SIM cards should be used.

Is it approved for vehicle use?

Hikvision list E-MARK (ECE R10) plus EN50155 and EN45545 for this model, so it is specified for rail as well as road use.

How quickly can I get it?
