Building a CCTV system that works
A good system is planned around what you need to see, not around the number of cameras in a box. Start with these steps:
Map the entry points: doors, gates, side passages, bin stores and parking.
Choose resolution per view: 4MP for most doorways and gardens, 8MP or varifocal for car parks, yards and long drives.

Terraces often sit close to the pavement, so aim cameras at your own door and path rather than the street, and use privacy masking in the recorder for anything beyond your boundary.
