DS-2DE2C400IWG/W — 4 MP, Wi-Fi Pan-Tilt Camera
The DS-2DE2C400IWG/W is a 4 MP Wi-Fi pan-tilt camera. It has a fixed lens rather than an optical zoom, and motors that pan 0° to 345° and tilt 0° to 80° — so you can look around from the app, but you cannot zoom in optically on something far away. Built-in IR reaches 30 m.
It connects over Wi-Fi, which makes it the practical choice where running cable is not an option — a rental, a garage, a shed, a spare room. For anything on a proper cabled system, a wired PTZ gives you far more reach.

What you'll need
- A decent Wi-Fi signal at the camera position — this is the thing that decides whether it works well
- A microSD card for local recording, or an NVR on the same network: see NVRs
- A mains socket within reach

Frequently asked questions
Does it zoom?
Not optically. It has a fixed lens and pans and tilts only, so it can look around but cannot magnify something in the distance. If you need to identify a face or a number plate at range, you want an optical-zoom PTZ instead.
Is Wi-Fi reliable enough for CCTV?
It is fine where the signal is strong and it saves running cable. But Wi-Fi drops out, and a camera that drops out records nothing. For anything you are relying on, use a wired camera.
Can it record without a recorder?
Yes, to a microSD card in the camera. That is convenient, but it is also the first thing an intruder takes — so record to an NVR as well if the footage matters.
How far does it see at night?
Hikvision quotes IR to 30 m.
Can I use it outside?
It is rated IP66 and specified from -30 °C to 50 °C, so yes — but it needs a mains socket and a solid Wi-Fi signal at that position, which is usually the limiting factor outdoors.
