The DS-2DE5425IWG-4G is a 4 MP 5-inch IP PTZ speed dome with 25× optical zoom and IR to 150 m, with a built-in 4G modem. That is the point of it: it works on sites with no network and no broadband — a compound, a construction site, a remote yard — where running a cable back to a recorder is not an option.

It pans 360° and tilts -15° to 90° with auto flip, holds 300 presets with 8 patrols and 4 pattern scans, and records to a microSD card in the camera so you are not dependent on the mobile link for evidence. It is rated IP66 with 6,000 V surge protection and works from -30 °C to 65 °C.

Do I need a SIM card?

Yes, a data SIM. Video over mobile data adds up quickly, so we usually set a low sub-stream for live viewing and record full quality locally to the memory card. Tell us about the site and we will suggest a sensible configuration.

How much data will it use?

That depends entirely on how you set it up — continuous streaming at full resolution will run through most tariffs in days, while event-only clips and a low live stream is manageable. This is the thing to get right before the camera goes up, so talk to us about it.

How far does it see at night?

Hikvision quotes IR to 150 m. That is the illumination range, not the identification range — you will recognise a person well before that distance.

Do I still need fixed cameras?

On most sites, yes. A PTZ looks in one direction at a time, so fixed cameras on the entrances give you the constant evidence while the PTZ investigates.
