The DS-2DF8C442IXG1-ELWY is a 4 MP IP PTZ speed dome with 42× optical zoom and IR to 400 m. It runs over network cable to an NVR.
It pans 360° and tilts -20° to 90° with auto flip and smart pan-tilt correction, holds 300 presets and supports patrol and pattern scans, so it can run a tour unattended.

Frequently asked questions
How much zoom do I need?
This model has 42× optical zoom. As a rule of thumb, 4× suits a forecourt, 15–25× a car park or yard, and 32× or more a long boundary. Digital zoom is not a substitute — it only enlarges pixels.
How far does it see at night?
Hikvision quotes IR to 400 m. That is the illumination range, not the identification range.
Will standard PoE power it?
No. It needs 36 V DC or 802.3bt (type 3, class 6) at up to 60 W. A standard 802.3af or 802.3at switch will not run it, and an undersized supply is the usual reason a PTZ resets when it moves — check the power row above before ordering.
Can it follow someone automatically?
Yes. Hikvision lists manual tracking and auto-tracking 3.0 for this model, so it will lock on to a moving person or vehicle and follow it.
Do I still need fixed cameras?
On most sites, yes. A PTZ looks in one direction at a time, so fixed cameras on the entrances give you the constant evidence while the PTZ investigates.
