The DS-2DF9C848LXG1-LW is an 8 MP (4K) IP PTZ speed dome with 48× optical zoom and laser illumination to 800 m. It runs over network cable to an NVR.
It pans 360° and tilts -20° to 90° with auto flip and smart pan-tilt correction, holds 300 presets and supports patrol and pattern scans, so it can run a tour unattended.
This is the longest-reaching camera in the Hikvision PTZ range that we stock: 4K resolution, a 316.8 mm lens and 800 m of laser illumination. It is a 9-inch unit at roughly 12 kg, and it is specified for perimeters, coastlines, ports and large industrial sites rather than anything urban.

What you'll need
- An NVR with a spare channel and the bandwidth for a 4K stream: see NVRs
- A 36 V DC supply rated for 90 W. Hikvision does not list PoE for this model, so plan a local power feed

Frequently asked questions
How far does it see at night?
Hikvision quotes laser illumination to 800 m. That is the illumination range, not the identification range — what you can actually recognise at that distance depends on the zoom setting and the conditions.
Can I run it on PoE?
No. Hikvision lists 36 V DC at up to 90 W and does not specify PoE for this model, so it needs a local power supply at the camera. Factor that into the installation before you order.
Why 48× rather than 60×?
Because this one is 4K. At 3840 × 2160 you can crop into the recorded image and still have detail, which partly substitutes for optical reach. The 60× laser model zooms further but is 2 MP.
Can it follow someone automatically?
Yes. Hikvision lists manual tracking and auto-tracking 3.0 for this model, so it will lock on to a moving person or vehicle and follow it.
Is this the right camera for my site?
It is built for perimeters, coastlines, ports and large industrial sites. If your longest sightline is under 200 m, something considerably cheaper will do the job. Tell us the distances and we will go through it with you before you commit.
