The DS-2DT6232X-AELY(T5) is an anti-corrosion PTZ camera: 2 MP at 32× optical zoom, from Hikvision's anti-corrosion range. It is built for places that eat ordinary domes — coastal and marine sites, docks, water and waste treatment, swimming pools, food processing and anywhere with salt air or aggressive washdown chemicals.

Please note this is the anti-corrosion model, not the explosion-proof one. Hikvision does not list an ATEX or IECEx rating for it. If you need a camera certified for a flammable atmosphere, the DS-2DY9236I-CWX is the explosion-proof unit in this range — ask us and we will point you at the right one for your zone classification.

It is rated IP67 and IK10 with full surge and lightning protection. Everything else behaves like a standard Hikvision PTZ — 300 presets, patrols and pattern scans, auto-tracking, and the same client software and recorder support.

Frequently asked questions

Is this camera explosion-proof?

No. It is the anti-corrosion model. Hikvision publishes no ATEX or IECEx rating for it, so it must not be specified for a hazardous-area installation. The explosion-proof unit in this range is the DS-2DY9236I-CWX, which carries ATEX Ex II 2GD and IECEx certification for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.

Where would I use one, then?

Anywhere corrosion is the problem rather than ignition: coastal and marine sites, harbours and docks, water and waste treatment, pool halls, food and drink processing, and sites with regular chemical washdown. On an ordinary site a standard PTZ costs a great deal less and will last just as long.

What does the IP67 and IK10 rating actually cover?

IP67 means dust-tight and able to withstand temporary immersion; IK10 is the highest impact rating in the standard. Combined with the surge and lightning protection, that covers weather, washdown and knocks — it says nothing about flammable atmospheres.

Is it the same to operate as a normal PTZ?

Yes. Same 300 presets, patrols, pattern scans, auto-tracking, client software and recorder support. The difference is entirely in the housing and materials.

Do you supply the matching brackets?

Ask us. Using a standard mild-steel bracket on a corrosive site defeats the point of the camera, so it is worth getting the fixings specified at the same time. Call 01902 902251 and we will go through it.
