DS-2DY5A432MWG-ELW — 4 MP, 32× Zoom, Positioning Camera
The DS-2DY5A432MWG-ELW is a long-range positioning camera: 4 MP at 32× optical zoom, with white light to 80 m and IR to 100 m. This is not a car-park dome — it is built to watch a perimeter, a yard or an industrial site where the subject may be a long way off.
It holds 300 presets with patrol and pattern scans, so it can run a set tour of the boundary unattended and be driven manually when something needs a closer look. It carries both white light and IR, so you can choose between covert monochrome at night and full colour when you want a deterrent and colour detail.

Frequently asked questions
How far can it actually see?
Optical zoom is 32× and Hikvision quotes white light to 80 m and IR to 100 m. Detection, recognition and identification all happen at different distances — tell us what you need to be able to do at what range and we will tell you honestly whether this model does it.
What is the white light for?
It gives you colour at night, which is what you need if the point is to describe a vehicle or clothing rather than just record that someone was there. It is also an active deterrent. IR is the covert option — no visible light, but monochrome only.
Why does the mounting matter so much?
At high zoom a small movement at the camera becomes a large movement in the picture. A pole that flexes in the wind will make the image unusable at full zoom, however good the camera is.
Will standard PoE run it?
No. It needs 802.3bt (type 3, class 6) at up to 30 W, or a 36 V DC supply. An 802.3af switch will not run it.
Does it auto-track?
Hikvision does not list auto-tracking for this model — it lists the smart events (line crossing, intrusion, region entry and exit) but not tracking. If following a target automatically matters to you, the DS-2DY5440IXG-E does list it.
