The DS-2SE4C415MWG-E/14 is a dual-channel PTZ: one fixed wide-angle camera that records continuously, and one 15× zoom PTZ in the same housing. That solves the problem every single-lens PTZ has — while the zoom is pointed at one thing, nothing is watching everywhere else. Here the fixed channel keeps recording the whole scene whatever the PTZ is doing.

Both channels are 4 MP. The PTZ channel has IR to 100 m; the fixed channel has white light to 30 m, so the wide view stays in colour at night while the zoom works covertly on IR. One cable, one IP address, one licence on the recorder.

15× takes the zoom channel out to 72 mm, which is the sensible bracket for a car park, a yard or a forecourt — far enough to read a plate or recognise a face at the gate without paying for reach you will not use.

Frequently asked questions

What does dual-channel actually give me?

Two cameras in one housing on one cable. The fixed wide channel records the whole scene continuously, so you still have evidence of everything that happened while the PTZ was zoomed in elsewhere. On a single-lens PTZ, that footage simply does not exist.

Does it use two channels on my recorder?

Yes. Budget two channels and the bandwidth for both streams. That matters when you are sizing the NVR and the storage, so tell us how many of these you are fitting and we will work it out with you.

Why white light on one channel and IR on the other?

It gives you both options at once. The fixed wide channel stays in colour under its white light, which is what you need to describe a vehicle or clothing. The PTZ channel uses IR, so it can look at something without announcing it.

What is the difference between the /14 and /26 versions?

The /14 has a fixed bullet-style channel with a narrower view; the /26 has a fixed panoramic channel covering around 180°. Same PTZ, different fixed camera — so pick /26 when you want the whole frontage covered and /14 when you want more detail from the fixed channel.

How far does it see at night?

Hikvision quotes IR to 100 m on the PTZ channel and white light to 30 m on the fixed channel.
