The DS-2SE7C432MW-AEB/14 is a dual-channel PTZ: one fixed wide-angle camera that records continuously, and one 32× zoom PTZ in the same housing. That solves the problem every single-lens PTZ has — while the zoom is pointed at one thing, nothing is watching everywhere else. Here the fixed channel keeps recording the whole scene whatever the PTZ is doing.

Both channels are 4 MP on 1/1.8" sensors. The PTZ channel has IR to 200 m and reaches 188.8 mm; the fixed channel has white light to 30 m, so the wide view stays in colour at night. Smart linkage (manual tracking, auto-tracking, tracking takeover, track in turn) lets the fixed channel spot movement and hand the target to the PTZ to follow. One cable, one IP address, one licence on the recorder.

This is the longest-reaching TandemVu unit in the 7-inch range. Over a forecourt or a small car park it is more camera than you need — the 25× DS-2SE7C425MW-AEB/14 is the better buy there.

Frequently asked questions

What does dual-channel actually give me?

Two cameras in one housing on one cable. The fixed wide channel records the whole scene continuously, so you still have evidence of everything that happened while the PTZ was zoomed in elsewhere. On a single-lens PTZ, that footage simply does not exist.

Does it use two channels on my recorder?

Yes. Budget two channels and the bandwidth for both streams. That matters when you are sizing the NVR and the storage, so tell us how many of these you are fitting and we will work it out with you.

Will the PTZ follow a target automatically?

Yes. Hikvision lists manual tracking, auto-tracking, tracking takeover and track in turn for this model. The fixed channel detects the movement and the PTZ takes over and follows it; track in turn means it will cycle between several targets rather than fixating on one.

Does the mounting matter at this zoom?

Yes, more than most people expect. At 32× a small movement at the camera becomes a large movement in the picture, so a pole that flexes in the wind will make the zoom channel unusable at full extension however good the camera is.

How far does it see at night?

Hikvision quotes IR to 200 m on the PTZ channel and white light to 30 m on the fixed channel. That is the illumination range, not the identification range.
