The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP2260(G) is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 access point for ceiling or wall mounting. It runs at up to 1774 Mbps combined — 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz — with two gigabit Ethernet ports, and draws a maximum of 15.5 W from PoE, PoE+ or a 12 V adapter.

What this access point is for

This is the unit for an office, shop, school or small hotel that needs proper business Wi-Fi rather than a consumer router pushed beyond what it was built for. Wi-Fi 6 matters most when many devices are connected at once: it schedules them more efficiently, so throughput holds up in a busy room instead of collapsing as devices are added.

There is no controller to buy. Reyee access points self-organise and are managed free through Ruijie Cloud, so one person can configure a site from a phone and manage it remotely afterwards. Add more units and they join the same network without being configured individually.

How many devices can the RG-RAP2260(G) handle?

Ruijie specify 256 clients with both bands enabled — 64 on 2.4 GHz and 256 on 5 GHz. That is the hardware ceiling rather than a planning figure: for a busy office, plan on far fewer per AP and add units where coverage demands it. Ruijie put it this way: "The maximum number of clients is the capacity of hardware, and the recommended number of clients is the quantity for actual network planning."

What is the second Ethernet port for?

Ruijie describe it as being "used to extend IP cameras or any other IP-based devices" — so you can run a camera or another device from the AP position without pulling a second cable back to the switch. Note that it passes data only: this AP has no PoE budget, so the device on that port needs its own power.

Does it need a controller?

No separate controller hardware. It self-organises with other Reyee units and is managed free through the Ruijie Cloud app or web console, so a small site can be set up without a dedicated controller or licence.

Can I extend coverage without running more cable?

Yes, using Reyee Mesh. Ruijie support three hops, so an AP can link back wirelessly where a cable run is impractical. A wired uplink still gives better throughput wherever you can manage one.

How is it powered?

PoE or PoE+ from your switch, or a 12 V 1.5 A DC adapter. Maximum draw is 15.5 W. If both are connected the DC adapter takes priority. The adapter is not included, so specify PoE or order a supply with it.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. It is rated IP41 and specified for 0 °C to 40 °C, which is an indoor ceiling or wall unit. For outdoor coverage ask us about the weatherproof models in the Reyee range.

How quickly can I get it?

Stocked items are despatched for delivery within 1-3 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
