Texecom's Premier Elite control panels share the same platform and differ mainly in capacity. The Premier Elite 24, 48, 88, 168 and 640 are wired panels that each start with 8 on-board zones and expand to 24, 48, 88, 168 or 640 zones. The Premier Elite 64-W is the hybrid option, built around Ricochet wireless with up to 64 wireless zones. Pick the smallest panel that covers your zones, areas and users with room to grow.
This article is part of our Texecom alarm systems guide, which covers the whole range from panels to detectors and sounders.
Choose by zone count first, then by areas (partitions), user codes and grade. The figures below come from the Texecom product data on each panel's page in our store.
| Panel | Zones (on-board / max) | Areas | User codes | Event log | Grading |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premier Elite 24 | 8 / 24 | 2 | 25 | 500 | Grade 2 (polymer) or Grade 3 (metal), Class II |

| Premier Elite 88 | 8 / 88 | 8 | 100 | 1,000 | PD6662:2017, EN50131-1, EN50131-3 Grade 3 Class II |
| Premier Elite 168 | 8 / 168 | 16 | 200 | 2,000 | EN50131-1, EN50131-3 and PD6662:2017 Grade 3 Class II |
| Premier Elite 640 | Up to 640 | 64 | 1,000 | 5,000 | PD6662 Grade 3 Class II |
| Premier Elite 64-W (hybrid) | 4 wired on-board; 32 wireless on-board, expandable to 64 wireless | 4 | 50 | 500 | EN50131-1, EN50131-3, EN50131-5-3 and PD6662:2017 Grade 2 Class II |
All event logs are time and date stamped. Every wired panel in the table lists PSTN, GSM, GPRS and IP communication options, Digimode on board and remote programming with Wintex software.
The Premier Elite 24 suits most homes and small premises: 8 zones expandable to 24, 2 areas and 25 user codes. It comes in two housings, and the housing decides the grade.
Both have an EN-rated, energy-efficient switch mode power supply and work with SmartCom and SmartCom 4G for remote diagnostics and upload/download through Texecom Cloud.
The Texecom Premier Elite 48 control panel (CAB-0001) doubles the 24's areas and user codes, giving 4 areas and 50 users, and expands from 8 to 48 zones. It is PD6662:2017 Grade 3 Class II, compatible with SmartCom and SmartCom 4G, and the panel measures 315mm x 415mm x 100mm. Choose the 48 for a larger house, a home with an outbuilding or annexe, or a small commercial unit that needs separate areas.
For larger buildings, the 88 and 168 add zones, areas and users.
The Premier Elite 640 control panel (CAE-0001) is the top of the range: expandable to 640 zones, 64 areas, 1,000 user codes and a 5,000-event log. Texecom highlights 8 on-board networks, wiring types that can be programmed per zone rather than system-wide, a 2.5A switch mode power supply and room for a 17Ah backup battery. With a SmartCom or SmartCom 4G it works with Texecom Cloud, Texecom Monitor and Texecom Connect.
Choose the 64-W when most devices will be wireless. The Ricochet Premier Elite 64-W control panel (GEW-0001) has 4 on-board wired zones and 32 on-board wireless zones, expandable to 64 wireless zones. It accepts both wired and wireless expanders and is designed to be installed out of sight, with day-to-day use through a Premier Elite LCD keypad or the app. It has 4 areas, 50 user codes and space for a 7Ah backup battery.
The Premier Elite 64-W LIVE (GEX-0001) has the same wireless capacity plus a built-in LCD keypad with prox reader, which cuts extra wiring when upgrading an existing system. Both are Grade 2 Class II. Our guide to Texecom Ricochet wireless explains how the mesh network and wireless expanders work.
Go wired (24 to 640) when cables can be run and you want the higher grade options. Go hybrid (64-W) when cabling is difficult or the building is occupied. The wired panels can also take Ricochet devices through wireless expanders, so a wired panel does not rule out wireless detectors.
A control panel is only part of the system. Plan for:
If you would rather buy everything together, a kit such as the Premier Elite 24 kit with Capture (KIT-1040) is a good starting point. Our Texecom alarm kits guide compares the options.

The 24 expands to 24 zones with 2 areas and 25 user codes. The 48 expands to 48 zones with 4 areas and 50 user codes. Both start with 8 on-board zones and have a 500-event log.
It depends on the housing. The polymer version (CAA-0026) is Grade 2 Class II. The metal version (CAA-0004) is Grade 3 Class II.
Yes. Ricochet wireless expanders such as the 8XP-W and 32XP-W add Ricochet wireless devices to a Premier Elite control panel.
Texecom lists SmartCom and SmartCom 4G compatibility for every panel in this article. A SmartCom is needed for Texecom Cloud, Monitor and Connect.
