It can be set up on its own through a web interface or adopted into an Omada SDN controller for central management.

The ES210XPP-M2 is a PoE switch for powering and connecting IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points and VoIP phones over a single network cable. TP-Link list a PoE budget of 200 W shared across its 8 PoE ports, using 802.3af/at/bt PoE++, with up to 90 W on any one port.

What you will need

You need network cable for each device. Total PoE draw of all connected devices must stay within the 200 W budget. SFP modules for fibre uplinks are sold separately. For central management you need an Omada controller (hardware, software or cloud-based); it is not needed for standalone use.

What is the PoE budget of the ES210XPP-M2 and how many IP cameras can it power?

TP-Link list a 200 W PoE budget across 8 PoE ports, up to 90 W per port. At around 7 W per typical fixed IP camera that is roughly 8 cameras; higher-draw PTZ or heated cameras reduce that number.

Which PoE standard does the ES210XPP-M2 support?

The PoE ports are 802.3af/at/bt compliant, so they power standard PoE (15.4 W), PoE+ (30 W) and PoE++ devices up to 90 W per port. They will not power 24 V passive PoE devices.

Is the ES210XPP-M2 managed or unmanaged?

It is an easy managed (smart) switch. It works out of the box, and through its web interface you can set VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, link aggregation and port mirroring. It sits between an unmanaged switch and TP-Link's fully managed Omada SG range.

Is the ES210XPP-M2 Omada compatible and does it need a controller?

Yes, it is part of the TP-Link Omada range. It does not need a controller to work, but adopting it into an Omada hardware, software or cloud-based controller adds central management, the Omada app and cloud access alongside your Omada access points and gateways.
