The TP-Link Omada MC100CM is a 10/100M media converter from RJ45 to 100M multi-mode fibre (SC), up to 2 km. It converts a copper RJ45 Ethernet link to 1310 nm multi-mode fibre, so you can carry 10/100 Mbps Ethernet far beyond the 100 m limit of copper cable.
What the MC100CM is for
Fibre media converters like the MC100CM are used in pairs, or with a fibre port on a network switch, to link buildings, gatehouses, car-park CCTV poles or plant rooms where a copper run is too long or exposed to interference.
TP-Link supply it as a standalone unit with a power adapter, and it can also be mounted in the MC1400 14-slot chassis when you have several links in one cabinet.

What you will need
You need multi-mode fibre with SC/UPC connectors between the two ends, a matching converter or 100BASE-FX port at the far end, an RJ45 patch lead to your switch or device, and a mains socket for the power adapter.

Does the MC100CM need a matching unit at the other end?
Yes. Use another MC100CM at the far end, or a 100BASE-FX multi-mode fibre port at 1310 nm.
Can the MC100CM go in a rack chassis?
Yes. The MC100CM is chassis mountable, and the MC1400 14-slot rackmount chassis supplies 9VDC to TP-Link media converters.
What is the difference between the MC100CM and MC110CS?
The MC100CM is for multi-mode fibre up to 2 km. The MC110CS is for single-mode fibre up to 20 km.
How quickly can I get it?
We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter.
