The TP-Link Omada MC112CS is a 10/100M WDM media converter for one strand of single-mode fibre (SC), TX 1310 nm / RX 1550 nm, up to 20 km. Use it with the MC111CS. It lets you carry 10/100 Mbps Ethernet far beyond the 100 m limit of copper cable over a single fibre core.
What the MC112CS is for
WDM media converters like the MC112CS are used in pairs, or with a fibre port on a network switch, to link buildings, gatehouses, car-park CCTV poles or plant rooms where a copper run is too long, and where only one spare fibre core is available.
TP-Link supply it as a standalone unit with an external power adapter, and it can also be mounted in the MC1400 14-slot chassis when you have several links in one cabinet.

What you will need
You need one strand of single-mode fibre with SC/UPC connectors, an MC111CS at the far end, an RJ45 patch lead to your switch or device, and a mains socket for the power adapter.

What fibre does the MC112CS use?
TP-Link list single-mode fibre, one strand, TX 1310 nm / RX 1550 nm, with an SC/UPC connector.
How far can the MC112CS transmit?
TP-Link quote up to 20 km.
Does the MC112CS need a matching unit at the other end?
Yes. The MC112CS is one half of a WDM pair and must be used with the MC111CS at the other end. They send and receive on opposite wavelengths over one fibre strand.
Can the MC112CS go in a rack chassis?
Yes. The MC112CS is chassis mountable, and the MC1400 14-slot rackmount chassis supplies 9VDC to TP-Link media converters.
Why use the MC112CS instead of the MC110CS?
The MC112CS needs only one fibre strand, while the MC110CS uses two. That is useful when spare fibre cores are limited.
How quickly can I get it?
We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter. Call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
