SM331T — 1000BASE-T RJ45 SFP Module

The TP-Link Omada SM331T is a 1000BASE-T copper SFP module that turns an SFP slot into a gigabit RJ45 port, up to 100 m over Cat5e or above. It plugs into an SFP slot on a switch or router to add a copper link.

What the SM331T is for

An SFP module like the SM331T lets you choose the link type per port on an Omada network switch. Typical jobs are using a spare SFP slot as an extra copper port or uplink, or linking switches and servers in the same rack.

TP-Link list hot-swap support for the SM331T, so it can be fitted or replaced without powering the switch down. The device at the other end of the cable is any normal gigabit RJ45 port.

You need a free SFP slot on your switch, an RJ45 device at the far end, and Cat5e or above copper cable with RJ45 connectors. See our data networking range for switches and cabling.

How far can the SM331T reach?

TP-Link quote a maximum cable length of 100 m.

Which TP-Link switches is the SM331T compatible with?

It fits a 1G SFP slot, for example the SFP slots on the Omada SG2428P switch. TP-Link publish an Omada compatibility list, or send us your switch model and we will check.

Is the SM331T hot-swappable?

Yes. TP-Link list it as hot-swappable.

Why use the SM331T instead of a normal port?

It lets an unused SFP slot carry a copper RJ45 connection, for example when all the RJ45 ports on a switch are full or you want the uplink port to run to a copper device.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter. Call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
