The TP-Link TL-MR6400 is a tp link 4g router with a built-in 4G LTE Cat4 modem (150 Mbps down, 50 Mbps up), a nano SIM slot, 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, three 10/100 LAN ports, one 10/100 LAN/WAN port and two detachable LTE antennas.
What the TL-MR6400 is for
The TL-MR6400 turns a SIM card into home or small office broadband: insert a nano SIM and it shares the 4G connection over Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Its LAN/WAN port can also take a cable or fibre modem, with WAN failover to 4G if that line drops, which suits caravans, holiday lets, temporary sites and rural homes.
It is set up and managed with TP-Link's Tether app or web interface, not Omada, which keeps it simple for homes and small businesses. Need more wired ports? Add an unmanaged switch.

What you will need
A nano SIM with a data plan from your chosen network (not included), and network cable for any wired devices. The power adapter and an Ethernet cable are in the box.

Which 4G bands does the TL-MR6400 support?
4G FDD-LTE Cat4 B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 and TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41, plus 3G B1/B8. These include the bands used for 4G by the main UK networks (EE, O2, Vodafone and Three), but check coverage with your provider at the installation address.
How fast is the TL-MR6400?
4G up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload; Wi-Fi up to 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. Its Ethernet ports are 10/100 Mbps.
Can the TL-MR6400 fail over from broadband?
Yes. TP-Link list WAN failover, so with a wired modem on the LAN/WAN port it can switch to 4G if the line drops.
Is there a faster version?
