TP-LINK - TL-SG1024 - 24-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Rackmount Switch

TL-SG1024 — 24-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Rackmount Switch

The TP-Link TL-SG1024 is a 24-port Gigabit unmanaged switch in a 19-inch rack-mountable case, with 24 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and a switching capacity of 48 Gbps. It is plug and play, with no PoE output, so it is a simple way to add wired ports to an office, shop or CCTV network.

What the TL-SG1024 is for

TP-Link make the TL-SG1024 as an unmanaged network switch: connect the cables and it works, with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX on every port, so there is nothing to configure. Each port runs at up to 1 Gbps, which suits PCs, printers, NVRs and other wired devices.

The TL-SG1024 does not supply PoE, so IP cameras and access points connected to it need their own power or a PoE injector. If you want to power cameras from the switch, look at our TP-Link PoE switches instead.

What you will need

You need network cable for each device (Cat5e or above for gigabit links) and a mains socket for the switch. It gives no PoE, so powered devices need a separate supply. Rack mounting needs a free 1U space in a 19-inch cabinet.

Buying from Zenith Security Co.

We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the TL-SG1024 with you before you buy (the number of ports you need, the port speed against your devices and how any cameras or access points will be powered) and depending on your requirements and your area we can recommend a qualified trade installer. We have been operating since 2012 and you can visit our trade counter in Wolverhampton.

Does the TL-SG1024 support PoE?

No. The TL-SG1024 is a non-PoE switch. Devices that need PoE must be powered separately, for example with a PoE injector, or you can choose a TP-Link PoE switch.

Is the TL-SG1024 managed, and does it need an Omada controller?

No. It is an unmanaged plug and play switch, so it has no web interface and does not need an Omada controller or any configuration.

How fast are the ports on the TL-SG1024?

All 24 RJ45 ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps, so each device can link at full gigabit speed. If you need a different speed or port count, see the TL-SG1048.

What do isolation mode and loop prevention do on the TL-SG1024?

TP-Link list isolation mode on ports 1-22 and loop prevention on ports 1-24. Loop prevention helps stop a cabling loop bringing the network down. TP-Link note 802.1p/DSCP QoS is only on hardware version 11 and later.

Can the TL-SG1024 be rack mounted?

Yes. TP-Link list it as rack mountable in a 1U, 19-inch case and include rackmount kits and rubber feet in the box.

Is the TL-SG1024 silent?

Yes. TP-Link list it as fanless, so it runs silently.
