The TP-Link TL-SG1048 is a 48-port Gigabit unmanaged switch in a 19-inch rack-mountable case, with 48 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and a switching capacity of 96 Gbps. It is plug and play, with no PoE output, so it is a simple way to add wired ports to an office, shop or CCTV network.
What the TL-SG1048 is for
TP-Link make the TL-SG1048 as an unmanaged network switch: connect the cables and it works, with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX on every port, so there is nothing to configure. Each port runs at up to 1 Gbps, which suits PCs, printers, NVRs and other wired devices.
The TL-SG1048 does not supply PoE, so IP cameras and access points connected to it need their own power or a PoE injector. If you want to power cameras from the switch, look at our TP-Link PoE switches instead.

What you will need
You need network cable for each device (Cat5e or above for gigabit links) and a mains socket for the switch. It gives no PoE, so powered devices need a separate supply. Rack mounting needs a free 1U space in a 19-inch cabinet.

Does the TL-SG1048 support PoE?
No. The TL-SG1048 is a non-PoE switch. Devices that need PoE must be powered separately, for example with a PoE injector, or you can choose a TP-Link PoE switch.
Is the TL-SG1048 managed, and does it need an Omada controller?
No. It is an unmanaged plug and play switch, so it has no web interface and does not need an Omada controller or any configuration.
How fast are the ports on the TL-SG1048?
All 48 RJ45 ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps, so each device can link at full gigabit speed. If you need a different speed or port count, see the TL-SG1024.
How many devices can the TL-SG1048 connect?
It has 48 gigabit RJ45 ports, so up to 48 wired devices, or 47 plus a link to your router or another switch. TP-Link list a 16K MAC address table, 12Mb buffer and 71.4Mpps forwarding rate.
Can the TL-SG1048 be rack mounted?
Yes. TP-Link list it as rack mountable in a 1U, 19-inch case and include rackmount kits and rubber feet in the box.
How quickly can I get it?
We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter.
