TP-LINK - TL-WPA4220 - AV600 Powerline Wi-Fi Extender, 2 LAN Ports, UK Plug

TL-WPA4220 — TP-Link AV600 Powerline Wi-Fi Extender

The TP-Link TL-WPA4220 is an AV600 powerline Wi-Fi extender that takes your internet over the mains wiring and turns it back into 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi in the room where you need it, with two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for wired devices. This is the single add-on unit; it needs a HomePlug AV or AV2 powerline adapter connected to your router.

What the TL-WPA4220 is for

Use it to fix a Wi-Fi dead spot in a bedroom, loft conversion or garden office where a normal range extender is too far from the router. Because the signal travels through the wiring instead of the air, thick walls and floors matter much less.

Press Wi-Fi Clone on your router and then on the TL-WPA4220 to copy the network name and password, so devices roam onto it without new settings. If you do not already have a powerline adapter, the TL-WPA4220 KIT includes one. Browse more in data networking.

What you will need

A HomePlug AV or AV2 powerline adapter already connected to your router, and a wall socket on the same electrical installation in the room needing Wi-Fi.

Buying from Zenith Security Co.

We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the TL-WPA4220 with you before you buy, including whether powerline suits your building and what speed to expect, and depending on your requirements and your area we can point you towards a qualified trade installer. We have been trading since 2012 and hold stock at our Wolverhampton trade counter.

Does the TL-WPA4220 work on its own?

No. It needs a powerline adapter plugged in and cabled to your router. Any HomePlug AV or AV2 adapter will do, for example the TL-PA7017, or buy the TL-WPA4220 KIT.

What Wi-Fi does the TL-WPA4220 provide?

Single-band 2.4 GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi at up to 300 Mbps, with WPA2-PSK security. It is not dual-band.

How fast is the powerline connection?

AV600 is a theoretical maximum of 600 Mbps; TP-Link note actual speeds are lower. The Ethernet ports are 10/100 Mbps.

Can I add it to my existing TP-Link powerline network?

Yes. It is compatible with all HomePlug AV and AV2 adapters, and Wi-Fi Auto-Sync keeps settings matched across several TL-WPA4220 units.

Does it have a UK pass-through socket?

No. It is the UK-plug version without a pass-through socket.

How quickly can I get it?

Stocked items are despatched for delivery within 1-2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.

Can I see one before buying?

Yes. Our trade counter is at Unit 3, Park View Centre, 243 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton WV2 3JU.
