TP-LINK - TL-PA7017 KIT - AV1000 Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit, UK Plug

TL-PA7017 KIT — TP-Link AV1000 Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit

The TP-Link TL-PA7017 KIT is an AV1000 gigabit powerline starter kit with two compact HomePlug AV2 adapters, carrying data at up to 1000 Mbps over your existing electrical wiring. Each adapter has one Gigabit Ethernet port, a Pair/Reset button and 128-bit AES encryption, with up to 300 metres range over the circuit.

What the TL-PA7017 KIT is for

It gives a fast, stable wired link to a smart TV, games console, desktop PC, NVR or IP camera in a room where Wi-Fi is weak, without drilling or new cable runs. One adapter plugs in beside the router, the other where you need the connection.

The gigabit port means a wired device is not capped at 100 Mbps by the adapter. If you need to keep the wall socket free, choose the TL-PA7017P KIT with pass-through, or browse data networking.

Key features

• AV1000 HomePlug AV2, up to 1000 Mbps powerline rate

• Compact design that does not block a neighbouring socket
• Plug and play, no configuration required
• Pair button for 128-bit AES encryption
• Power-saving mode reduces consumption by up to 85% (TP-Link figure)

Buying from Zenith Security Co.

We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the TL-PA7017 KIT with you before you buy, including whether powerline suits your building and what speed to expect, and depending on your requirements and your area we can point you towards a qualified trade installer. We have been trading since 2012 and hold stock at our Wolverhampton trade counter.

How fast is the TP-Link TL-PA7017 KIT in practice?

AV1000 is the maximum physical rate of 1000 Mbps. TP-Link note that real throughput is lower and depends on wiring quality, distance and interference, so expect a fraction of that figure; the gigabit port makes sure the adapter itself is not the bottleneck.

Does the TL-PA7017 have a pass-through socket?

No, it is the compact version and uses the wall socket. The TL-PA7017P KIT adds an integrated socket.

Will it work with my other TP-Link powerline adapters?

Yes. It supports HomePlug AV2 and HomePlug AV, so it pairs with other TP-Link AV, AV600, AV1000 and AV1300 adapters. A link runs at the speed of the slower adapter.

How many adapters can I add?

You can extend the network to more rooms by pairing extra HomePlug AV2 adapters, such as another TL-PA7017 or a TL-WPA4220 Wi-Fi powerline extender.

Is the connection secure?

Yes. Press Pair on each adapter to create a private network with 128-bit AES encryption.

How quickly can I get it?

Stocked items are despatched for delivery within 1-2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.

Can I see one before buying?

Yes. Our trade counter is at Unit 3, Park View Centre, 243 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton WV2 3JU.
