Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller Wireless Heat and Smoke Detector

Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller - Wireless Heat and Smoke Detector

EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller is a wireless addressable detector for the Ajax EN54 fire alarm system. It looks for a fire in two ways at once: a dual-spectrum optical sensor picks up smoke, and two thermistors track the temperature, with the heat class set to suit the room. It reports to EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller over the encrypted Jeweller radio, so the panel can tell exactly which detector raised an alarm or fault. The smoke sensor does not react to water vapour, and its chamber is designed to keep out dust, dirt and insects. Two CR123A batteries, fitted at the factory and changed without tools, run it for up to 6 years. There is no sounder in this version, so the warning comes from the sounders and VADs on the system. Choose black or white above.

Also listed as 155888 (black) and 155887 (white). Ajax model ID FP.54HS.J.

Technical specification

Works with

EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller (the control panel for the Ajax EN54 system), directly or through EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller. Ajax lists EN54 Indicator Jeweller as compatible, for a remote indicator. Audible and visual warnings come from EN54 FireProtect sounders and VADs on the same system, such as the EN54 FireProtect (Sounder) Jeweller, the EN54 FireProtect (VAD) Jeweller and the EN54 FireProtect (Sounder/VAD) Jeweller. Single-sensor versions are the EN54 FireProtect (Smoke) Jeweller and the EN54 FireProtect (Heat) Jeweller.

Common questions

Does it make a sound when it detects a fire?

No. This version has no sounder. The panel sets off the sounders and VADs on the system. If you want a sounder in the detector, Ajax makes EN54 FireProtect (Smoke/Sounder) Jeweller and EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Sounder) Jeweller.

Why choose a heat and smoke detector?

It watches for both smoke and heat in one device, and the heat class can be set to suit the room. The fire risk assessment and the system designer should decide which detector goes in each area.

Which panel does it need?

EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, the control panel of the Ajax EN54 Line. It can connect directly or through an EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller range extender.

How long do the batteries last?

Ajax calculates up to 6 years on the two CR123A batteries supplied. They are fitted at the factory and can be changed without tools.

Can it be fitted outdoors or in an unheated building?

No. Ajax rates it for indoor use (IP20) at 0 °C to +50 °C with humidity up to 80%.
