The Dahua DH-XVR5104C-X is a 4 channel Penta-brid 1080P CCTV DVR, also called an XVR or digital video recorder, from Dahua's Lite Series in a smart 1U case. It takes HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS cameras and IP cameras on one recorder, records with H.265+ and H.265 dual-stream compression, and adds Smart Search and an Intelligent Video System.

• Coaxial audio, upgrade and alarm functions reduce wiring, with 1 audio in and 1 audio out (RCA).
• 1 SATA port for a hard drive up to 10TB, HDMI and VGA outputs, 2 USB 2.0 ports and a 100M network port.

What does Penta-brid mean?

How many cameras can it record?

It has 4 analogue channels (BNC) for HDCVI, AHD, TVI or CVBS cameras. Dahua lists IP camera input as 4+2 channels, each up to 6MP, and the multi-screen display is 1/4, or 1/4/6 when IP extension mode is enabled.

What camera resolution does it support?

How far can the cameras be from the recorder?

Dahua gives HDCVI transmission distances over coaxial cable and UTP of up to 700 m for 4K/4MP, 800 m for 1080P and 1200 m for 720P.

How much storage can it take?

One SATA port, up to 10TB capacity. The hard drive options are listed on this page, including recorder only with no drive.

Can it record sound?

It has 1 audio input and 1 audio output (RCA), and Dahua lists two-way talk that reuses the audio in and out. Dahua also lists coaxial audio. If you record sound, display signage saying so.
