Hikvision DS-K1105EMKB — EM and Mifare card reader with keypad, IP66

The DS-K1105EMKB solves the mixed-credential problem. Many older UK sites issued 125 kHz EM fobs; new Hikvision systems use 13.56 MHz Mifare. This reader accepts both, so a controller upgrade to the DS-K2702X can happen without reissuing every fob, and new Mifare credentials such as the DS-K7M102-M can be phased in. The keypad adds a PIN for two-factor entry or code-only access for visitors. Its IP66 rating and -40 °C to 65 °C range make it the toughest of the readers listed here — this is the one for an exposed gate. The DS-K1107AM is the Mifare-only alternative.

Hikvision readers connect to an access controller over RS-485 or Wiegand; the controller holds the credentials and drives the lock. They pair with the DS-K27 controllers and DS-K2M002X modules listed on this site, and with third-party controllers that accept Wiegand 26/34. Two technologies, one reader

The datasheet lists EM card and M1 card as the supported card types, with RS-485 and Wiegand outputs so the reader works with Hikvision K27 controllers over either bus and with third-party controllers over Wiegand. The keypad allows card-plus-PIN, PIN-only or card-only modes as configured on the controller.

Built for outside

IP66 — the reader can take direct jets of water — with a -40 °C to 65 °C operating range and 0–90% humidity. Power is 12 VDC at up to 6 W, with a buzzer for feedback. Wall mounting at 139 × 46 × 21.2 mm, narrow enough for a door mullion or gate post.
