The DS-KD-PMR is the accessibility module in Hikvision's KD8 range. It generates an induction-loop field so that a hearing-aid user standing at the door can switch to the T position and hear the resident clearly, without relying on the loudspeaker. Its four indicators also show call, speech, door-release and loop-active status, so it doubles as a visual-feedback module. On a new block where Part M or Equality Act guidance asks for a hearing loop at the entrance, this is the part that satisfies it within the intercom panel itself.

Hikvision's KD8 modular door station is built from a main unit (camera, microphone, speaker and one call button) plus sub-modules that clip into a common frame: nametag buttons, card reader, keypad, display, indicator and induction loop. Modules connect to the main unit over RS-485 and take their 12 VDC from it, so a panel for a block of flats is specified module by module. This is part of Hikvision's IP video intercom range: door stations, indoor stations and accessories that connect over a standard network (PoE or 12 VDC) and are configured with the iVMS-4200 client or the Hik-Connect app. IP-series products are designed to be used together within that range. Loop performance

The datasheet gives a 4 Ω loop with a 100 Hz to 3800 Hz frequency range — the speech band — and a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 47 dB at 10 cm. Power consumption is selectable at up to 4 W, 6 W or 8 W to suit the loop drive required.

Indicators

Four indicators: calling, opening door, two-way audio and PMR (loop active), so the visitor knows both that the loop is working and where the call has got to.

Fit

Standard KD8 module format, 98.5 × 100 × 33.7 mm, flush or surface mounting in the frame, with two RS-485 and two power interfaces so it can sit mid-chain between other modules. IP65, -40 °C to 55 °C.
