The DS-KIS603-P is Hikvision's standard IP intercom kit for one dwelling. The door station is a slim 138 × 65 × 27 mm PoE unit with a 2 MP camera — the same 131° × 78° view and 138 × 65 × 27 mm housing Hikvision publishes for its DS-KV6113-WPE1 family — and the indoor station is a 7" Wi-Fi touch screen at 200 × 140 × 23.3 mm with a microSD slot. For a 4 MP door station with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth unlock, step up to the DS-KIS613-S; the DS-KIS602 is the earlier wired-only kit.

This is part of Hikvision's IP video intercom range: door stations, indoor stations and accessories that connect over a standard network (PoE or 12 VDC) and are configured with the iVMS-4200 client or the Hik-Connect app. IP-series products are designed to be used together within that range. The door station

A 2 MP HD camera streams 1080p at 25 fps with a 720p/480p sub stream, across a 131° horizontal, 78° vertical field of view, with true WDR, backlight compensation, digital noise reduction and IR supplement to 3 m. Motion detection is supported. Interfaces: RS-485, four alarm inputs, a tamper switch and a debugging port; two indicators; surface mounting; IP65; -40 °C to 53 °C. Power over standard PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC, under 10 W. Protocols TCP/IP, RTSP, IPv6 and ONVIF.

The indoor station

A 7" colour TFT capacitive touch screen at 1024 × 600, with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 (Bluetooth reserved). It links 16 network cameras, 16 indoor extensions and 17 door stations, stores 200 notices and takes a microSD card up to 128 GB. Eight alarm inputs, two relays rated 30 VDC 0.3 A and a 12 VDC 0.2 A output (when PoE-powered). PoE 802.3af or 12 VDC, ≤ 12 W; 200 × 140 × 23.3 mm; -10 °C to 50 °C.

Setting it up

Both units sit on the home network: PoE from a switch, or 12 VDC supplies with the indoor station on Wi-Fi. Commission with iVMS-4200 or Hik-Connect; the app then takes calls on a phone when nobody is home.
