The Ruijie Reyee RG-ES208GC is an 8-port gigabit Layer 2 smart cloud managed switch without PoE. Ruijie position it for small and medium business networks and for CCTV networks, with IP camera and NVR recognition built in.

What the RG-ES208GC is for

Ruijie describe the RG-ES208GC as a cost-effective smart cloud managed switch for SMB networks. All eight ports are 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 and none supply PoE, so it suits NVRs, PCs, printers, access points and cameras that already have their own power source.

Its CCTV features are IP camera and NVR recognition, an extend mode and transmission of up to 250 metres. Automatic loop prevention keeps the network connected when a loop occurs, and VLANs can be configured in the Ruijie Cloud app. The switch is fanless, compact and quiet.

What you will need

Because this switch has no PoE, any IP camera or access point plugged into it must be powered separately, from its own adapter or from a PoE injector or PoE switch upstream. A power adapter is listed in the box. Use Cat5e or better cable for gigabit links. If you want PoE from the same switch, look at a PoE model instead.
