The TP-Link Omada EAP230-Wall is an AC1200 Wi-Fi 5 wall-plate access point for business Wi-Fi. It delivers 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, has one gigabit uplink and one gigabit downlink port, and is powered by 802.3af/at PoE. TP-Link rate it for wall mounting, covering up to 25 m² (300 ft²) and 200+ concurrent clients.
What the EAP230-Wall is for
The EAP230-Wall is the lowest-cost Omada wall-plate tp link access point for rooms that just need reliable Wi-Fi and one wired port.
Wall-plate APs mount over a standard wall box, so each hotel room, dorm, flat or office gets its own access point and wired ports from the existing cable.

What you will need
A PoE source and a network cable to the wall box. No DC input is listed; it is PoE powered. For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).

Does the EAP230-Wall support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?
Yes. TP-Link list 802.3af/802.3at PoE input and a maximum draw of 7 W, so any 802.3af or 802.3at PoE switch, for example the Omada SG2210MP or SG2016P, will power it.
Does the EAP230-Wall need an Omada controller?
It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.
What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP230-Wall?
It is Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), AC1200 class, with TP-Link quoting 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz.
How many devices and how much area does the EAP230-Wall cover?
TP-Link quote 200+ concurrent clients and coverage of up to 25 m² (300 ft²). These are TP-Link test figures; walls and interference reduce real coverage.
Can the EAP230-Wall be used outdoors?
No. It is an indoor unit rated for an operating temperature of 0–40 °C. For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.
EAP230-Wall or EAP235-Wall?
Both are AC1200. The EAP235-Wall has three downlink ports and PoE pass-through; the EAP230-Wall has one downlink port.
How quickly can I get it?
