The TP-Link Omada OC300 is a rack-mountable Omada hardware controller that centrally manages up to 500 Omada access points, 100 Omada routers and up to 100 Omada switches. It has two gigabit Ethernet ports and a USB 3.0 port, runs from mains (100-240 V) and includes a rackmount kit.

What the OC300 is for

The OC300 is the on-premises Omada controller for larger sites, multi-building campuses, hotels and MSPs who want their network management kept locally with cloud access via the Omada app, without a subscription.

It handles automatic device discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrades, monitoring, alerts and captive portals for Omada access points, switches and gateways.

What you will need

Rack space (1U) or a shelf, a mains socket, and a network connection to your Omada devices. Remote access is through the Omada app or cloud portal.

How many devices can the OC300 manage?

TP-Link list 500 Omada access points, 100 Omada routers and a maximum of 100 Omada switches (fewer when DeltaStream GPON OLTs are added).

OC300 or OC200?

The OC200 is a small PoE-powered controller recommended for 25 Omada devices; the OC300 is a rack unit for up to 500 APs.

Do I need a hardware controller at all?

Not always. TP-Link also offer the free Omada Software Controller and Omada Central cloud. A hardware controller suits sites that want an always-on local controller without running a PC or server.

Is the OC300 PoE powered?

No. It uses a mains supply (100-240 V, 0.6 A) with the power cord included.

Which Omada devices does it manage?

Omada access points such as the EAP653 and EAP723, Omada smart switches such as the SG2428P, and Omada routers. Check TP-Link's Omada compatibility list for specific models.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter — call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
