The TP-Link Omada EAP723 is a BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 dual-band ceiling mount access point for business Wi-Fi. It delivers 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz, has one 2.5G Ethernet port, and is powered by 802.3at PoE+ or 12 V/1.5 A DC. TP-Link rate it for ceiling, wall or junction box mounting, covering up to 140 m² (1500 ft²) and 250+ concurrent clients.

What the EAP723 is for

The EAP723 is the most affordable Omada Wi-Fi 7 ceiling tp link access point, a straightforward upgrade from Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 in offices, shops and small hotels.

It uses the same 160 mm footprint as the EAP610 and EAP653.

What you will need

A PoE source and a network cable to the mounting position. The power adapter is not included. For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).

Does the EAP723 support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?

Yes. TP-Link specify 802.3at PoE+ input and a maximum draw of 16.8 W, so power it from an 802.3at PoE+ switch such as the Omada SG2210MP (8 PoE+ ports) or SG2428P (24 PoE+ ports). It also accepts 12 V/1.5 A DC; no DC adapter is included.

Does the EAP723 need an Omada controller?

It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.

What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP723?

It is Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), BE3600 class, with TP-Link quoting 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz.

How many devices and how much area does the EAP723 cover?

TP-Link quote 250+ concurrent clients and coverage of up to 140 m² (1500 ft²). These are TP-Link test figures; walls, ceilings and interference reduce real coverage, so plan a site survey for larger buildings.

Can the EAP723 be used outdoors?

No. It is an indoor unit rated for an operating temperature of 0–40 °C. For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.

Is the EAP723 worth it over a Wi-Fi 6 AP like the EAP653?

The EAP723 adds Wi-Fi 7 and a 2.5G port in a similar footprint; the EAP653 is Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 with a gigabit port.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter — call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
