TP-Link Omada EAP655-Wall — AX3000 Wall-Plate Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Access Point
The TP-Link Omada EAP655-Wall is an AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point for business Wi-Fi. It delivers 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, has a gigabit uplink plus three gigabit downlink ports, and is powered by 802.3af/at PoE. TP-Link rate it for wall mounting, covering up to 50 m² (600 ft²) and 120+ concurrent clients.
What the EAP655-Wall is for
The EAP655-Wall gives AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 and three wired ports per room, a wall-plate tp link access point for hotels, care homes and student accommodation.
Wall-plate APs mount over a standard wall box, so each hotel room, dorm, flat or office gets its own access point and wired ports from the existing cable.
Key features
- AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz plus 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz
- Gigabit uplink plus three gigabit downlink ports
- PoE out on one downlink port
- 120+ clients, up to 50 m² per room
- Managed through Omada Central, Omada hardware or software controllers, or the Omada app

What you will need
A PoE source and a network cable to the wall box. No DC input is listed; it is PoE powered. For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).
Buying from Zenith Security Co.
We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the EAP655-Wall with you before you buy — how many access points your site actually needs, whether your switch has the PoE budget, and which Omada controller suits you — and depending on your requirements and your area we can recommend a qualified trade installer. We have been operating since 2012 and you can visit our trade counter in Wolverhampton.
Does the EAP655-Wall support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?
Yes. TP-Link list 802.3af/802.3at PoE input and a maximum draw of 12 W (EU, PoE out off), so any 802.3af or 802.3at PoE switch, for example the Omada SG2210MP or SG2016P, will power it. One downlink port gives PoE out, which needs an 802.3at PoE+ input; TP-Link quote up to 10.5 W pass-through (EU version).
Does the EAP655-Wall need an Omada controller?
It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.
What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP655-Wall?
It is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), AX3000 class, with TP-Link quoting 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz.
How many devices and how much area does the EAP655-Wall cover?
TP-Link quote 120+ concurrent clients and coverage of up to 50 m² (600 ft²). These are TP-Link test figures; walls and interference reduce real coverage.
Can the EAP655-Wall be used outdoors?
No. It is an indoor unit rated for an operating temperature of 0–40 °C. For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.
EAP655-Wall or EAP650-Wall?
Same AX3000 Wi-Fi 6. The EAP655-Wall has three downlink ports and PoE out; the EAP650-Wall has a single downlink port in a smaller 86 x 86 mm body.
