The TP-Link ER706W is an Omada VPN router with built-in AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 (574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz plus 2402 Mbps at 5 GHz with 160 MHz), a gigabit SFP WAN/LAN port, a gigabit WAN port, four gigabit WAN/LAN ports and a USB 3.0 port for 4G dongle backup.

What the ER706W is for

The ER706W puts a business tp link router and a Wi-Fi 6 access point in one box, which suits small offices, shops and clinics that want Omada management without a separate AP. Multiple WAN ports give load balancing and failover, and a USB 4G dongle adds mobile backup.

Its Wi-Fi can be extended with Omada access points and the whole site managed in an Omada controller or Omada Cloud. For PoE devices add an Omada PoE switch.

Yes. AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 with 574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps at 5 GHz (HE160), with OFDMA, MU-MIMO and beamforming.

How many WAN ports does the ER706W have?

One gigabit WAN port, one gigabit SFP WAN/LAN port and four gigabit WAN/LAN ports, for multi-WAN load balancing and failover. A USB 3.0 port supports a 4G LTE dongle.

What VPN does the ER706W support?

IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard, SSL VPN, L2TP and PPTP. TP-Link quote IPsec throughput around 643 to 658 Mbps, WireGuard 393.5 Mbps and SSL VPN 126.7 Mbps.

Is the ER706W Omada compatible?

Yes. It works standalone through its own web interface, or can be adopted by an Omada software controller, hardware controller (OC200/OC300) or Omada Cloud so it is managed with your Omada switches and access points. SD-WAN works only in controller mode.

Is there a 4G version of the ER706W?

Yes. The ER706W-4G adds a 4G+ Cat6 modem with dual nano SIM slots, and the ER706WP-4G also adds four PoE+ ports.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter.
