TP-LINK OMADA - ES210X-M2 - 8-Port 2.5G Easy Managed Switch with 2 10G SFP+ Slots

ES210X-M2 — TP-Link Omada 8-Port 2.5G Easy Managed Switch with 2 10G SFP+ Slots

The TP-Link Omada ES210X-M2 is an easy managed switch with 8 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports with no PoE output, plus two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots, in a desktop steel case that can also be wall mounted. It can be set up on its own through a web interface or adopted into an Omada SDN controller for central management.

What the ES210X-M2 is for

The ES210X-M2 is a 2.5G network switch for connecting PCs, NVRs, printers and access points in a small office, shop or home office. It gives no PoE, so powered devices need their own supply or a PoE injector.

With two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots it can uplink to a faster core or fibre link. If you need to power cameras or access points from the switch, the ES210GP adds PoE+ output. See also our PoE switches.

What you will need

You need network cable for each device. It gives no PoE, so cameras or access points need separate power. SFP modules for fibre uplinks are sold separately. For central management you need an Omada controller (hardware, software or cloud-based); it is not needed for standalone use.

Buying from Zenith Security Co.

We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the ES210X-M2 with you before you buy — the port count and speed against your devices — and depending on your requirements and your area we can recommend a qualified trade installer. We have been operating since 2012 and you can visit our trade counter in Wolverhampton.

Does the ES210X-M2 supply PoE?

No. The ES210X-M2 has no PoE output. If you need PoE, the ES210XPP-M2 is a PoE version.

Is the ES210X-M2 managed or unmanaged?

It is an easy managed (smart) switch. It works out of the box, and through its web interface you can set VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, link aggregation and port mirroring. It sits between an unmanaged switch and TP-Link's fully managed Omada SG range.

Is the ES210X-M2 Omada compatible and does it need a controller?

Yes, it is part of the TP-Link Omada range. It does not need a controller to work, but adopting it into an Omada hardware, software or cloud-based controller adds central management, the Omada app and cloud access alongside your Omada access points and gateways.

Does the ES210X-M2 have SFP or uplink ports?

Yes: two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots.

Can the ES210X-M2 be rack mounted?

No. It is a desktop steel case that can also be wall mounted, not a rack unit.

What is the difference between the ES210X-M2 and the ES210XPP-M2?

The ES210X-M2 has 8 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports with no PoE output, plus two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots. The ES210XPP-M2 has 9 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports, 8 of them PoE (200 W budget), plus one 10 Gbps RJ45 port and one 10 Gbps SFP+ slot.
